Product Details

A replica from a sword believed to belong to Albrecht II, Duke of Austria, this sword commemorates the pinnacle of medieval swordsmithing. Elegant but simple, the flattned diamon-section blade and cruciform hilt match the 15th century original. The 'the Lion Rampant”, the emblem of the House of Hapsburg, the house to which the Duke belonged, is deeply embossed on the pommel. A Passau “running wolf” guild mark appears on the blade fuller, part of the coat of arms of the city of Passau, one of the most prolific centers of sword and bladed weapon manufacture at the time. Also featured on the blade fuller is a marigold maker's mark. The grip and scabbard are made of matching lbrown eather over a cord wrap, while the pommel and sword guard are given an antiqued patina. In addition to being a handsome replica piece, this bhigh-carbon forged blade is fully functional with an excellent point of balance and is easy to handle.
