Our Best Selling Highest Quality Two-Handed Swords

Throughout the middle ages, the two-handed sword was mad, bad, and dangerous to know—browse our selection of two-handed swords and acquaint yourself with the lethal beauty of our claymore swords.

As armor grew more and more advanced, weapons had to be developed to keep up with the pace. Distinct to the years 1350 to 1550, the two-handed sword was capable of thrusts, cuts, and slices. It could also deal heavy blows that brutally crushed even the hardiest of armors. Many knights dealt the final blow to enemies by gripping the edge of the blade and using the pommel as a blunt hammer. True to its name, the two-handed sword required the knight or soldier to hold it with two hands. Because of its enormous size, which could reach up to 6-feet tall, the two-handed sword was often strapped to the back rather than hung at the side as with one-handed swords. It was a double-edged sword with a round point whose hilt was often straight but sometimes curved. The pommel could be triangular, faceted or pear-shaped, functioning as a decorative ornament that also balanced the heavy weapon. As time moved forward and gun powder became more and more prevalent on the battlefield, the two-handed sword was consigned to ceremonial purposes only.
