This sword would have been standard issue for every Roman legionnaire, an effective cut-and-thrust weapon but useful for more peaceful pursuits: eating, cleaning nails, cutting paths in the forest. This particular dagger is a faithful replica of the prop used in Focus Features' Roman epic, The Eagle. A solid metal handle features diagonal bands of circular indentations that continue out toward the guard. The pommel is simple but serviceable, typical of ancient Roman design. The blade itself is made of hand-forged, well-tempered high carbon steel. Every part of this breathtaking sword is antiqued as it was in the original film, providing a sense of authenticity to the movie and to the ancient past. This piece includes a leather belt sheath, making it a perfect complement to any Roman costume. Also includes Certificate of Authenticity. Can be sharpened for an additional fee.
